Matt Sweeney, an ex fighter pilot, came to Four Corners Co-op on March 6 2026 to give a presentation about his time in the Air Force. Throughout rigorous training and testing, he was in the brave 22 out of 80 that made it through the tests and became a fighter pilot at age 31.

 

Matt Sweeney always tried to hold his Christian faith throughout his career. Quoting scripture and hymns, and prayer kept him going. He was stationed throughout America, and sometimes in the middle east. He joined the Air Force out of a love of helping others, and his country.

 

Throughout his career he and his family found it hard for him to work in the Air Force. With him being away stationed in other states, or even countries. But with a strong faith, and heart he made it through the Air Force for his country. As Matt Sweeney stated. "When you can learn to be of service to others, I don't think there is anything you cannot do.”
